    Cafe Valer is a small deli type restaurant. in The West Covina Mall. It is on the south side of he mall directly east of Nordstrom's. They serve smoothies, paninis and baked goods among other things. The joint is very well maintained and the employees were really on their game. I ordered a chicken garlic pesto panini, which took a while to make but we totally worth the wait. It was so freaking good, and was made with really fresh ingredients. I've also had the mixed berry smoothie, which was also quite delicious.

    Been here about 10 times and it has been consistently delicioso my favorite thing has been the back bean chicken avocado wrap I always ask for some buffalo sauce on the side the spinach tortilla is so so yummy. Customer service is ok...but owner is very friendly.

I've been going to the west covina mall since the 90's and used to walk pass cafe valer all the time but never realizing this place had some amazing food!! the chicken fajita panini is amazing, a little spicy but delicious none the less! the pesto chicken panini is also very tasty! cant wait to try everything else on the menu!

    Love this place! Great, tasty and warm food. It's all made on the spot and the employees are a joy to go see! They are always attentive and remember what you have ordered before. The manager are very nice and welcoming. This place is clean and well organized. I normally go for the iced chai tea! The whole menu is good, I go here almost every weekend.

    Cafe Valer is such a fabulous place. The owner is always attentive to your needs. The employees greet regulars with a smile, and will start to remember your orders.. :-) I myself am addicted to the Angus Burger with the Chipotle wrap. This business is the true American dream. You have some individuals that took a risk, and opened up a cafe. Through hard work and excellent customer service that are realizing what success looks like. Although its a small place, the food is astronomically delicious! Take your friends, and family to this cafe for a great Lunch, or Dinner. They even do Phone Orders. They have parking right in front, and a nice patio.

    The food here is AMZING!! This is such a hidden gem. I had a turkey avocado sandwich and I am not exaggerating when I say it was the best turkey sandwich I have ever had. The desserts are so delicious also, such a great variety. I was shopping in the mall and I happened to stumble across this place, I think I just might find a job in the mall just to be able to enjoy this food for lunch more often.

    Absolutely AMAZING. If I could id give this place more than 5 stars... It was my first time here and right when I walked in I noticed a board with that day's specials. The boyfriend and I both ordered off the specials and each of our meals were $6.95 he got the healthy lunch special with chicken breast, side salad, guacmole, black beans, and brown rice. I got the chipotle chicken wrap and man.... It was AMAZING. The portions are very good for the price and we both walked out extremely satisfied. The owner is such a sweetheart and was awesome! Checked up on us to make sure we enjoyed our meal, and even gave us a complimentary dessert that was absolutely DIVINE. I don't know many places around here but since I'm always down this area for work I've been looking for a new, healthy place to dine in. If you're confused about the location it's located INSIDE the mall closest to the first floor Macy's entrance.

    Stop searching and go try Cafe Valer now!!!! you will not be disappointed. The food is fresh and tastes great. there isn't a thing on the menu that doesn't taste delicious. I learned of cafe valer about a month ago and have been back nearly 12 to 15 times. I had family in from out of town this past week and every day they wanted to go back to Cafe Valer because of the food, the price and the service. The clean eating is great for an after training meal. Corey is a great man and Im happy to spend my money in his place of business and support the local guy.     I am so happy I found this cafe! I am unfamiliar with this area so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this cafe at the West Covina Mall. There is an outside patio so you can access the cafe without actually having to walk the mall. The owner was the one who took my order and he was very patient with my friends and I as he explained various options on the menu! He let us know that the chicken is hormone free and how things were cooked. I ordered the California Chicken Panini, chips, and raspberry tea and it was excellent! The food came quickly and was devoured! I will definitely come back here again!

    Always great service! I used to come here every morning when I worked at the mall for my morning coffee and it's truthfully the best coffee I've ever had way better then star bucks! The food is always phenomenal!whether it be wraps, a panini, salad, you name it is amazing! And they also have vegetarian options! Pastries as well everything they produce is just amazing!

    Hey what's up so we decided to swing by the westco shopping center which has plenty of parking and a lot of stores too. On the way back we got and urge for pastry n a drink so this super nice cafe stands out from the ones in the mall aswell because they have a full food menu! Super awesome customer service ! Nice location to get cheesecakey choco cookies and a nice hot or cold coffee or chocolate. Deliciously entrees are available aswell! A must visit, the guys are very helpful , patient and kind I recommend them .why not give them a try!

    This place was the best mall restaurant I've been to! Especially for the price- great tasty choices and I love how they had a "healthy" section. I was a little surprised that my black bean chicken avocado's "hot sauce" was actually buffalo sauce...that's something I would write in the menu because it totally changes the flavor- but it still tasted great. I didn't try the desserts but they looked amazing! Like 6 different types of cheesecakes. Also the service was fantastic! Super fast and friendly.

Ha ha what can I say customer services it's all for me, and this place sure has it as his best, then flavor and this is where it gets better, they give u more that a 100% on flavor from paninis, breakfast, salads, wraps, coffees and more...but the best , their prices are very affordable, way less that mc Donald's or Denny's ..     Went here for the first time a couple months ago with my housemate at the time because we wanted something quick but healthy while we were shopping at the mall in West Covina. Not only was the food great (and pretty reasonable for the price), the owner offered us a free dessert before we left! What a shocker! It was a mango mousse cake, and was absolutely delicious. Not sure if they do this all the time since I imagine it must have been some sort of grand special sort of deal. Located in West Covina mall, parking is ample in the lot nearby. There is a place for people to sit inside, and outside for those who prefer it. Great location and overall great service/experience.

    All I can say is WOW!!! I past this place so many times but I guess today was destiny. Boyfriend wanted a sandwich for lunch he wanted togo's initially. But I told him I wanted down to go to the cafe across the street. I had the chicken club panini which was loaded with chicken spinach and avocado very good couldn't finish it though so I'll order a half because the portions are a really good size. The boyfriend had the chicken avocado on wheat. The service was also a plus :-) I'll be back soon for sure. Only feedback I have to give is less is more when garnishing a plate. A sprinkle goes a long way. Don't fairy dust the whole plate. Other than that I LOVED IT.. Makes me wish they sold crepes

    I can't believe this eatery has been in the West Covina Fashion Plaza for over 5 years and I only yesterday was made aware of it's existence! After a great workout and massage, a group of us wanted to eat good, clean, tasty food. A member of said group suggested we all try Cafe Valer. 4 individuals, each with their own discerning taste buds, were more than satisfied with their choice of sandwich. Spicy Buffalo Chicken &Turkey Spinach Artichoke Panini were delicious and the Turkey Avocado Club on whole wheat was a hit! The prices are VERY reasonable and the staff are very friendly.     I use to come here a lot when I worked at chase but its been a while. A few days ago, I stopped by because I wanted a panini! I got the Chicken & Mushroom Alfredo one. It does take a while for the food to come out only because the staff is quite small & they do make it fresh once you order it. Its really good. The prices are a bit high but I understand that its inside the mall & its good quality food. Customer service could always be better but its okay.

    Love this place workers are very helpful and nice here. I've tried practically every wrap they offer here lol my boyfriend loves the pizza here..they are pretty big for an individual size as well. They have happy hour specials before you walk in the cafe so make sure to take a look at them before ordering! If you want to try a wrap try the chipotle chicken wrap you won't be disappointed :)

    This place is definitely a hidden gem. It's in the Westfield shopping center in West Covina. We decided to check it out because of it's high ratings... And let's just say we were pleasantly surprised. It's definitely a 5 STAR spot. I got the Chipotle Chicken Panini and yum yum yum! The panini was packed with yummy chicken. The service is amazing too, the owner came over to make sure we were enjoying the food. You should check it out. What's better than a family-owned business with delicious food, fresh ingredients, and outstanding service?! (Ps: also try the coffee/caramel ice cream concoction for dessert, it was tasty!)

    We decided to finally try out Cafe Valer, and not only was the food excellent, the customer service exceeded our expectations. I ordered the special, the chicken pesto salad. My husband ordered the chipotle chicken panini. There was no kids menu listed (not unexpected for a cafe), but they offered a grilled cheese sandwich for our three year old, which is an all time kids favorite. We also ordered a slice of Oreo cheesecake for dessert. My salad was amazing, a huge and towering mound of greens, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, feta cheese, streaming freshly grilled chicken breast, and a yummy pesto dressing. My husband offered me a bite of his panini and it tasted like a delicious spicy burrito smashed between two slices of bread. My three year old started whining immediately that she didn't want her sandwich, despite our demonstrating to her that it was, in fact, delicious (SO delicious) and she started clamoring for bites of my salad. Seeing that her food was practically untouched, we were asked if anything was wrong and explained that no, nothing was wrong, she just would rather eat mommy's salad. Minutes later, the server surprised us by bringing her out her own toddler sized version of the exact same salad. Her whines turned to squeals of delight and she quickly demolished her new plate of food. We'll definitely be coming back soon... the buffalo chicken panini we smelled cooking today is already calling to me!

    I don't know why I don't come here often. The food is delicious and the service is great. I've tried the buffalo chicken pizza, and a breakfast turkey bagel sandwich. The presentation is quite flattering and compliments the taste as well. Don't forget to try their coffee for all you coffee lovers. As an avid Starbucks drinker, I have to admit their coffee is better. The owner is always helpful and great with the customers.

    So happy I stumbled on this place through yelp. This is one of those places where you're thinking, "nahhhh, this place can't be as good as yelp says". BUT IT IS! It's in the West Covina mall and usually mall food is extremely dull and saturated in fat. Definitely not the case at Cafe Valer. I walked in not knowing what to order and the lady at the register was extremely friendly. I knew I wanted a sandwich for lunch, but wasn't sure what. She offered me her favs and gave me the internet password while I looked over the menu. I ordered half a panini and a cup of the soup of the day. I can't seem to recall the name, but I know it had red peppers, black beans, chicken, and avocado on it. It was deee-licious. The flavors were amazing because of the chipotle aioli and the cheese. Very very very tasty. The soup was broccoli and cheddar. It was just alright. But the panini, man let me tell you. My mouth is still watering. Also, half a sandwich was more than enough to fill me up and I had not had breakfast. The portions aren't huge, but the owner doesn't skimp on ingredients. Lots of chicken and veggies in the panini. I also ordered a frappuccino, truffles something. It was tasty, but not how I like my coffee. It was recommended to me by the girl at the counter. I would have probably preferred just an iced coffee. But, that's shame on me for not ordering what I like. Great service and great food at the mall?! I definitely recommend hitting this place up if you're at the mall or in the area like I was.

    Been coming here for years !!! Since my good ole high school days. Still gives great service and sandwiches. I always get the buffalo chicken panini or the black bean avocado wrap on spinach.     I really only came here to get a latte with a design but it ended up being amazing! First off, the customer service is the best. All the workers are super friendly and always making sure you're enjoying your meal. I ordered the California chicken signature panini and it was delicious.     This place is so good and found it per chance. Yes, its in the mall but right near the entrance and completely worth it! We are from phoenix and on our way out of LA and it was a perfect stop right off the 10. Corey was amazing! So helpful and incredibly generous in making sure that we were satisfied!     This place is...A...M...A...Z..I...N...G!!! The Pesto Chicken Salad is beyond delicious. I live in downtown LA, so when I'm craving salad, I'm bummed bc my new favorite salad is all the way here in West Covina. The dressing is perfect, they pack in loads of chicken as well. And you get free passion fruit tea!!! We also got a ton of desserts last time we came...yummy cupcakes and delicious oreo cheesecake....so so mouth-watering. I'm definitely coming back. And I just assumed this place was new, because it's right at the side entrance of the mall near the nail shops and Macy's. It's so cute, and it also has a patio. So glad we discovered this place!!!

    I'm so glad I finally got the chance to try this place! It's a hidden gem in the West Covina mall. In my opinion it's way better than Panera bread right across the street. They have A+ customer service and are very attentive. I wish I tried this place sooner! I will definitely come back again :) I got the half turkey spinach avocado panini with a chicken Caesar salad and I thought it was amazing. My sister got the the chicken chipotle avocado panini with soup. Everything was really fresh!

    I have been working at the mall for 5 years now, and I feel that's enough time to get sick of the mall food, agreed? Agreed. Well, Cafe Valer is well above all that. Hands down the best spinach artichoke wrap I have ever eaten. There's a perfect blend of feta, cesar dressing, avocado, tomato, cucumber, spinach, and artichoke neatly wrapped inside a spinach tortilla. It's great. Heaven in your mouth. AND vegetarian. I also order the egg white omelettes. I've had the spinach, basil, and feta (which is my fav, can you tell I like feta?) and the chipotle black bean, which has a wonderful kick to it because there are jalapenos which pairs nicely with the mozzarella cheese. Now, that is just a very small section of the menu. They literally have something for everyone. You want a open faced sandwich? They got it. A bagel? Check. Pizza? They got that too. Feeling like a light salad or soup? Order it. With a wonderful selection of coffee, tea, smoothies, and even desserts, this place has it all, including THE BEST DAMN CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Granted, they get busy, and everything is made to order, but that little wait is so worth it and the owner makes sure to take care of and accommodate his customers to the best of his ability every single time. I love that. Bottom line, visit the cafe. Eat well and enjoy.

    THE greatest customer service you can ask for at a small cafe. :) I stopped in here to pick up some food during a weekday. Wasn't packed and this male worker took the time and had great patience in answering all my questions. I ended up ordering the Turkey, Spinach, & Avocado and had it wrapped.....also a small Green Tea Frap. When my order was ready, the same male server walked the order out to me and even held the door open for me as I left. :) seriously out of this world service. The wrap itself was good..pretty standard, but in a good way. The best part, besides the service, are the prices. I left with somewhat of a healthy lunch..plus a frap..for about $9. Prices here are reasonably low..definitely a plus! Final notes...it's located near Gatten Sushi on the first floor. Check in for 10% off!

    Employees were so nice. I like their menu planning. There are selections for quick and healthy choosers. I had the turkey cranberry sandwich. It was good but don't expect much since it's high protein and low in fat (very little dressing if you don't know what I'm implying). I had a drink which is $1 with a combo.     If I could give Cafe Valer 10 stars I would without a doubt. Every time my husband and I walked in we were instantly greeted and not rushed to make a selection. If I could recommend any sandwich to you I HIGHLY recommend the Italian Meat and Pesto Artichoke sandwich on sourdough!!! It's so delicious. Some of my other favorites are the Turkey and Avocado Club or the Chipotle Chicken Salad. Also when you go make sure you try the Royal Cookie. It's delicious!!!! Can't wait to go back again soon :)

    I went to Cafe Valer earlier today with my brother and ordered the Turkey Avocado wrap. Not only was my wrap well-presented, it was so delicious and was made with fresh ingredients. After seeing my brother drink a tasty looking Mexican mocha, I decided to get my coffee fix there as well. I asked the lovely man behind the counter what he recommended. He asked me a few questions on what flavors I like and whipped me up a delicious caramel white chocolate iced coffee. It was fantastic! Not only was the customer service extraordinary, the quality of the food mirrored the quality of the service! Between the humble family oriented staff, delectable food, and cozy atmosphere it was all in all a great experience.

    We love this place! My nine year old and I were at the mall and needed lunch, and we discovered this gem. Really, really nice people, all homemade foods: real turkey, fresh bread, amazing deserts. I had the "adult grilled cheese," which was only $5 and includes a drink. My daughter had the fresh turkey sandwich. Both were some of the best sandwiches we had ever had. We will be back! We loved the chocolate chip macadamia cookies too!

    I found this place on yelp and I really like it. I love that they're family owned and that their food is fresh and full of flavor. We didn't have to wait long for our food either. I thought since it was mid day on a saturday that we would get stuck waiting a while for our food but much to my surprise we didn't. Im a "people person" so whenever I'm ordering i like to ask how the cashier is doing, ask questions about the food, that kind of thing- the cashier didn't make me feel rushed, recommended different items on the menu and didn't get all upset when I ordered a water to drink instead of buying something to go with my meal. Very courteous! It was delicious. I recommend their panini sandwiches. Next time I come I will try the creme Brûlée cheesecake :)

    I've passed this place on many occasions. Cafe Valer caters to a different clientele because it is not located in the food court. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided it was worth checking out. First of all, the gentleman that assisted with my order was friendly and helpful. I asked for some recommendations on which sandwiches were the best sellers. He suggested the Chicken Spinach Feta Panini and the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Panini. Decided against the Chicken Spinach Feta Panini since we are not fans of Feta Cheese. He said they could make the sandwich without the Feta Cheese. He said if there was anything I didn't like on a sandwich, they could make it without. That was very helpful. Many places will give you a hard time if you want to make substitutions. I selected the Chipotle Chicken Avocado Panini and the Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich (deli style). The Chipotle Chicken Avocado Panini had a chipotle pesto aioli sauce which was tasty. It had a nice blend of flavors with just a slight bite. The bread was perfectly toasted. A bit messy to eat though. The Turkey Bacon (real bacon) Ranch sandwich was a disappointment. I had shared the CCAP with hubby so maybe I was getting full. I think the bread was suppose to be toasted, but it was dry. The turkey turned out to be on the dry side as well. There were 2 thin strips of bacon, but they did not add much flavor to the sandwich. Hubby didn't care for the sandwich either. The service was friendly, just wish the sandwiches were better. Would I give them another try? Probably......but I wouldn't make a special trip.

    Had to update after this: Called from work this morning to try to order for delivery. The gentleman was working alone when I called. He explained that they could deliver once the second crewman arrived, then told me they usually only deliver inside the mall, but he would see what he could do since there were a few of us ordering. He was very attentive to the order and even split the bill for us even though he was alone. No complaints...no attitude. Great service!

    Decided to try their pizza. The best pizza I have had since I was in New York. Fresh. High quality cheeses. Lots of pepperoni. Perfect crust. And their antipasta salad was fresh and filled with meats and cheeses. Topped it all off with an Iced Cafe Latte and a heavenly Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake with Pink Sprinkles.

    Very friendly staff and wonderful customer service. This place is small with a cute cafe feel. There are a few small tables inside and outside the restaurant. I had a carrot cake and coffee. I'm not sure if this was a normal occurrence, but there was a panhandler, bum, however you refer to the population that asks if you have spare change and possibly does not have a place to shower. He would come in every other 1/2 hour and just stand there and STANK up the whole place. ugh. He made some lady cry from his stank. :( I didn't complain and the owners were nice enough not to "shoo" him away. I don't know. I'd probably return here. Their menu is reasonable for sandwiches, paninis, pizzas and all at $ prices. They also have a frequent buyer stamp card for their coffee.

    Pros: Staff is nice Food is decent and have some healthier options (wish they had the calories listed though). I am glad there is something besides McDs and El pollo loco in the neighborhood. Con: The baked goods variety is great-- they have anywhere from original cheesecake to dulce de leche, however, these are listed on yelp as baked fresh daily but I highly doubt this. The cakes I have tried do not taste fresh and the cake is kind of stale. Also I have gone there several times a week and there are the same exact pastries. And there you have it-- decent place but would be better if the baked goods were as good as expected.

    Ugh! I REALLY wanted to like this place but the food was not as good how everybody describes it... 1) ordered the California chicken panini and it tasted bland! Mesquite flavorless chicken, red bell peppers, panini bread and spinach didn't taste like anything... They need to add garlic mayo or something to kick up the notch! So disappointed! 2) also ordered the Caesar chicken salad, also no good. Salad seemed like it was from the plastic bag Caesar salad kits from the grocery store. Had a couple bites and threw away... I gave 2 stars for friendly customer service but no stars for the food. FYI: there are only 4 tables inside the restaurant and plenty outside. Will be trying something else and giving them the LAST chance.

    Tried out the turkey and chipotle pesto panini on sourdough....It was SO delicious! I prefer a fresh cold sandwich with lettuce but THIS was so tasty! I will admit that I came here before and the sandwich had little flavor but the pesto this time made all the difference. I started ordering not realizing the cashier was on the phone taking someone else's order and he smiled politely and signaled to the phone. He took their order and hung up and still repeated my order! Damn he's good! He was so polite about everything and the sandwich came out fast.

    Tucked in the mall right by Macy's is this hidden gem.. Father and son owned cafe with reasonable prices and a 10% off check-in coupon! For lunch we had their chipotle chicken avocado panini and a full-sized pesto chicken salad.. The panini was made so perfectly it looked just like the picture on the menu, I was very happily surprised! The salad came with spring mix greens, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, almond slices, dried cranberries, and a grilled chicken breast tossed in a creamy Italian pesto dressing. The deal of the day was a free iced tea of your choice with the pesto chicken salad :) they had a selection of about 6 different teas and splenda or pure cane sugar syrup if you prefer it to be sweetened. They brew the tea to order and serve it in a large cup, such a great bonus! Aside from the phenomenal food the customer service is also just as amazing. Corey, the "son" and co-owner of Cafe Valer, was such a gracious host and catered to our every need. We had a wonderful experience for our first-time and plan to return tomorrow! It would be awesome if they opened a second location in the Bay Area, I could literally eat here every day :)

    I love this place! I was at Panera Bread, the line was too long and I came here because of the reviews on Yelp. I was not disappointed. I won't ever choose Panera over this place again! The meat tasted fresh, not like a frozen slab that was mass produced. The veggies were crisp, and there were so many more pannini options than Panera! Don't get me wrong, I love Panera. For instance, we sat outside and I was expecting them to have napkins on the plates (panera style), but it was just the sandwich... on a plate, my hands got messy with nothing to wipe them on, and my day was then ruined lol I would come back to try the desserts though.

    This place was amahhhhzing!!!!!!! It was the yummiest pesto chicken panini sandwich, ever! Gobbled that thing up in literally a second. Cory the owner also gave us a hot-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookie - the chocolate chips were melting in our mouths bc the cookie was still warm.     I was craving for a light and healthy sandwich and realized there aren't many options like this in West Covina area. Luckily, thanks to Yelpers, I found this nifty place! TONS and TONS of choices from gourmet wraps, to paninis, mini pizzas, breakfast wraps, salads, etc. I love the amount of choices! Prices are also super reasonable! On top of that they have a wide selection of coffees, teas, and smoothies. My personal favorite is their Chicken Spinach Feta Panini. I probably order this at least once every week or so.     I didn't find the service as amazing as people stated but the prices were reasonabe. The coffee in the Americano was very weak though and I felt their blended drinks were much better. Try the caramel, they give you a nice layer on the bottom and the coffee taste is strong. They have a selection of cakes and brownies if you're into snacking while mocha-ing. Very small seating area, three tables inside and a few outside on the patio. Not made for big parties.

I've been coming here for some years now and the service is always great and the employees are always friendly. Their soups are always hot and delicious especially on a cold day. My favorite sandwich here is the BLT. Their lattes and hot tea is also good as well and isn't too expensive. Even though they're located inside of a mall, the ambiance is nice and they also have a lovely patio.

    I can hear a few times and every time it's been great. The service is awesome, the food is delicious, they never take long to serve you. Your coffee and pastries are always fresh which helps this place stand out from the rest. They also have a pretty good dessert menu most of the cakes and pies are sold by the slices, but definitely a serving size you can share or two maybe three people depending on your appetite. Their Panini's are really great, definitely try the spicy chicken avocado wrap that has a lot of flavor and the hot wing sauce definitely complements the rest of the ingredients. I recommend checking out this place if you're at the West Covina mall, but even if you just passing by it's easy access to stop to and check out it's located on the W. Covina Pkwy. side of the mall over near the post office in the parking garage... Also if your locally working they give a good discount to the neighboring hospitals and businesses

    My first review My first plan was to eat at the food court; however I was very glad I stopped by at Cafe Valer. Mr. Cory, who is the owner of the place, gave us an exceptional customer service. It was my first time dining in at the restaurant so I did not know what to order. He recommended the Italian breakfast and it was excellent. Food was delicious and was presented well on the plate.Since he was the one who created the menu, his menu knowledge was superb. The most important observation I saw on his cafe was the staff's work ethic. The staff worked very hard and friendly.With that said, I believe Mr. Cory takes care of his staff very well.     Tired, hungry and upset stomach. I needed something light, tasty and filling. My brother suggested this place and he also suggested the roast beef. How sad...that I didn't even feel like looking at the menu as I sat with my face in my hands just tired from my neighbor's barking dog . He ordered it for me while I sat down. They asked if I wanted a soda, I said no... just a sandwich. The sandwich was very tasty and the roast beef was fresh with a thin slice of cheese on a nice croissant. I dare not order a second one, yet now my stomach craved for it. A super kind gesture on the person behind the counter that brought me out a free glass of water and sat it on my table.     Absolutely delicious! Comparing it to panera would be a disservice to this fine establishment. I had the chipotle chicken sandwich, no soup no salad, just a full sandwich. I figured I could always try those after but I'd have to like the sandwich in order to come back. Not only did I enjoy my meal but there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. It was made perfectly and after I was done I didn't feel guilty for eating it. Sorry jack in the box The place is a tiny. But boy does it pack a punch. The variety is not overwhelming but it's enough to make you want to come back a few times to decide what your favorite dish will be. I got lucky and beat a little rush that came in after. My trip could not be complete without trying one of their expressos and a desert. Went with the strawberry cheesecake and the dulce de leche expresso. Both of them hit the spot! The staff is what really pushes this place to a five star. They are just on top of things. Offering up advice or just making sure everything is ok. Definite coming here when I come to the mall.

    The reviews don't lie -- the food is as good as it gets here. The owner, Cory, provided exceptional service and is very hardworking (he told me he gave up his favorte chai tea latte for an inordinate amount of espresso shots because he works such long hours). I came here famished earlier today and ordered a turkey avocado in a spinach wrap. It was filled with a generous amount of fresh turkey & greens, and very well priced at $6.85. If you're not too sensitive to caffeine, try the hazelnut latte. It was divine and perfect for me because I'm studying for finals at the moment :) ps. they have almond milk. *love* I had a bit of trouble locating the café. It is located on the north end, near Macy's and across from Gatten Sushi. I'll definitely be back!

    Normally, I would NOT come back and write a review for a place that sends you hate mail, because I feel that everyone has the right to their own opinion and after all... that's what Yelp is for. A gentleman, which I assume is the employee I was talking about in my previous review, decided to send me hateful comments after I posted my review and that alone made me never want to return to this place. However, my bf and a friend of his tried a couple of sandwiches here recently and they asked me to come with next time. I was a little apprehensive but I decided to try it anyway. We ordered 2 sandwiches to go. My bf and I each shared half of a Chicken Chipotle Sandwich with Avocado and a Turkey Cranberry Sandwich (part of the "lighter" menu with 99% lean Turkey). Both sandwiches were ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I mean, WOW. Everything from the flavor, bread, and presentation. Just amazing. I've tried many sandwiches in my life and these were two of the best I've had. I'm glad I decided to come back, and I will continue to come back to try more of their food. Service was good this time, an older man helped us out. A+ for the food from Cafe Valer!

    This cafe is really just amazing. I only wish it was closer to my home then I would go all the time. The staff is friendly and interesting, the teas and coffee are always good. I always order their lunch specials if I am ordering for myself just to try different things all the time! I always make an effort to stop by if I am in the area or passing by. I have ordered the panini for picky friend and he really enjoyed it. He usually always complains about something but the bread was toasted nicely and insides were delicious! I even got it togo and it was still good! I also brought a friend who was vegetarian at the time. She ordered the wrap which looked amazing. It was a delicious hearty meal. As a small girl I am able to make 2 meals out of 1 order here! Love love love this place.

    I'm a big fan of this place not only because they have good food and cute and quaint atmosphere but because you don't get great service like this anymore, normally. I ordered a yummy chicken salad and paid a little extra to add avocado to it and it was still around or under 10 bucks and enjoyed it with friends in there outdoor patio area. My friend ordered a walnut-chicken sandwich and asked for light mayo. Unfortunately it was saturated in mayo. When the manager (maybe owner) of Cafe Valer overheard her complaint about the sandwich, he not only made her a new one with no mayo at no extra charge, but let us keep the original and he was super nice about it. He was genuinely sorry for the mistake and went above and beyond to remedy the situation! He was such a nice guy and with service like that, I will definitely make it a point to return.

    I agree with all the previous 5**** reviews. My boyfriend and I met here , because it's half way from us. First of all, what a great little cafe. The manager who serve us was super sweet. The panini was AMAZING!!!! We had the chipotle Chicken Avocado and the Garlic Chicken Pesto. We had both a full and we shared it. Both of them were delicious. Best panini I ever tasted. Will come back again.

    Second time coming here and I'd just come back to the West Covina mall just for this café (cause I don't like the mall that much). Excellent customer service and the food and drinks never disappoint and they all have a decent price. My favorite wrap to get here is the Turkey Bacon Avocado wrap. It comes with a pickle and it is just perfect. I've gotten this the first and second time I came here. For their coffee, I got the hot caffe mocha. It was served in a ceramic and it had such beautiful latte art! They serve really good coffee. I got this really delicious cheesecake for dessert.. I forgot the name but I believe it was a truffle chocolate one? It had such a cute presentation with whipped cream on the sides. I will definitely be back for the delicious food, great coffee, and mouth-watering desserts!

    I see this place every time I go to the mall and I usually don't go. However, I took the chance to go eat there with my sister and it was the best choice that I made! I highly recommend that you guys go there. Their sandwiches are spot on with the tastes - I had an open-face steak sandwich - and their service is excellent. I was very surprised and impressed with how everything went. If you go to the mall and are feeling a little hungry, skip out on the food court and visit this place instead. Worth your time, for sure!

    I was yelping for breakfast and brunch restaurants around the Queen of the Valley hospital and this popped up. First, it's in the West Covina mall. Second, I love their coffee. Their plating style is cute which is a plus but their food is delicious. I ordered the Italian Breakfast Sandwich and Mexican Mocha. I will definitely be coming more often knowing its close.

The desserts always look so tempting that I finally gave in at my last visit and tried the cheesecake.... Major disappointment.     In between client meetings, I had to make a quick stop at Macy's to pick up a few things. I realized I was hongry. Really hongry. I recalled that a friend had highly recommended Cafe Valer, and said they made fantastic sandwiches. I'm a sandwich aficionado, so I finished my purchases and walked to the entry-way near where I had parked. CV isn't located in the food court, but rather at one of the lower level Southern entrances near Macy's. I was immediately greeted by friendly employees, and noticed that the small restaurant was spotless and well run. Plenty of employees and a nice overhead menu. The serve fresh juices, and also have bottled water, teas and soft drinks. The menu was broken down nicely into categories, and I immediately gravitated to the Panini section. I ordered a Chipotle Chicken & Avocado Panini and a half mixed greens salad with Caesar dressing, and one large iced tea. The food is made fresh to order and I waited about 7 -10 minutes. In the interim, I struck up a conversation with a delightful woman having lunch. She works in the mall and says she eats here 3 to 4 times a week. She gave me the lowdown and explained that they only use fresh ingredients and that the sandwiches and salads were excellent. My food arrived and I was blown away with the quality of the Panini. It was loaded with diced chicken, pepper jack cheese, roasted red peppers, avocado, tomato, black beans and a creamy chipotle aioli. The bread was crispy and well toasted and the press was perfect. Sometimes a sandwich can get soggy if left too long in a Panini press. It was tremendous (winks at Sean Y.). Excellent sandwich, and I'm very hard o please when it comes to sandwiches. The salad was a nice mix of greens with the perfect amount of Caesar dressing. The iced was cold and freshly brewed black tea. My meal was $11 and change. I'm a new fan of Cafe Valer, and recommend it highly. Should you ever be in the Fairfield West Covina Mall, give them a shot. ***Support owner operated family run business whenever you can. Fuck those chain restaurants. I'd much rather spend my money with an entrepreneur than some corporation or franchisee.     This cafe will take you by surprise. It's quite the gem in Covina. Their food is delicious!! My boyfriend and I always share the breakfast Italian panini and each of us gets an iced latte. I get the caramel and he gets the mocha. We tried a few other panini as well and everything is great! The friendly staff makes it even more charming!!     Cafe Valer is a small family owned cafe located in the West Covina Mall. They have a pretty good selection of food items including salads, paninis, deli style, pizza, wraps, and breakfast. For most food items, they offer half size and full size. In regards to drinks, they have a good selection of coffee, espresso (hot or iced), frappes, tea, and smoothies. Here are the paninis I've tried so far: **California Chicken full size - I've ordered this a few times. Consists of chicken breast, spinach, tomatoes, roasted peppers, avocado, sundried tomato, garlic aioli, and mozzarella cheese. On the first visit, it tasted superb. Everything was fresh, the bread was toasted perfectly. If I didn't finish it within a few minutes, the bread would still be good and everything in it would still taste good. The second visit was okay. For the last two times I ordered this, the bread was incredibly soggy and everything was falling apart. The longer I took to finish, it just got worse. **Chicken Ranch Club half size - After the latest california chicken panini fiasco, I decided to order this. And wow this came out excellent! The chicken, roasted peppers, tomatoes, and bacon held up together really well with the perfectly toasted bread. The ranch dressing was drizzled in the right amount. Superb panini. Drinks I've tried so far (all of which were quite enjoyable): **Strawberry banana smoothie - It was fruit-tacular. They blended the fruits perfectly with the right balance, a great smoothie. **Iced Cafe Mocha - Bold and strong with rich mocha flavor. **Iced Mexican Mocha - Mocha's sassier sister-in-law with a bit of pizazz. A bold and strong mocha drink with a bit of sweet and spice. Nice flavor of chocolate and cinnamon embedded into the drink. **Iced Vanilla Latte - Rich vanilla with strong coffee flavor. The vanilla wasn't overly sweet which I liked. The wait usually takes a while. But that's because they take a while to prepare everything. The owner doesn't smile that often, kind of looks like he's always angry. But the owner's son is super nice and smiles often. The other employees there are also pretty nice and most will bring your orders to you. There's a few tables inside as well as outside. Keep in mind its one of those metal chairs that will leave marks on you depending on how exposed you are. Yeaahh... there's marks I enjoy getting but definitely not these kind. Overall, yes food was a little inconsistent but at least the drinks have been consistently good. Will be back to try more.

I like the option of half and full for people don't eat much like me! (: My rating based off a veg panini so not sure how good the meat one will taste! But I thought it was okie. The sauce would be the main ingredient to make it tasty but it was nothing special. |Lemonade Passion Iced Tea| $3 I knew ordering a cold drink from them woudn't be the best choice since I saw a lot of latte & espresso drinks.     Its surprising that you would find a place for sandwiches in the west covina mall. So you must give this place a try. The owner, the staff, the food, all fantastic. The price is even good, nothing over $10 and they even have seasonal deals. Let's get this out of the way, I love sandwiches & spice! So first time here I tried the mango habanero panini. Wow. Everything fit well together and you get a tasted of summer with that good heat. I would totally get again once I try everything else. The second time around, I got the chipotle avocado chicken panini with added jalepenos grilled on top. I didn't even know they do that upon request but I did not regret it. Upon sandwiches, they also serve fitness aware options like egg whites and protein added smoothies along with desserts for you to indulge. Overall, I see myself coming back regularly

    Saw yelp reviews few days ago on the pictures of the chocolate truffle cheesecake and hazelnut truffle latte that's so tempting that I decided to try it today! Initially I thought it was a cafe that sells mostly desserts and tea/coffee but no, they do sell food too! Food: They have a wide selections of food - from salads, pizza, wraps, panini and sandwiches! Perfect for lunch/high tea. We ordered the Spinach Pecan Chicken Salad (half $5.50). Ordered half-size but portion is pretty generous, looks more like regular-size. The spinach is fresh and crunchy, dressing is good, comes with breadcrumbs, pecans, tomatoes and roasted walnuts. Chicken breast meat is soft and goes well with the spinach. Definitely worth ordering again the next time! 8/10 We also ordered Pepperoni Pizza ($7.95). I love the Parmesan cheese and pepperoni, taste pretty good! I usually don't really the crust but the crust is not too thick and crispy. 7/10 Drinks: Strawberry Banana Smoothies is really good! I'm so glad that I changed my mind to upgrade from a small to a medium cup. Very nice blend of strawberry and bananas! I love it! 8/10 Moca is pretty good! Served hot, taste rich and creamy. Sooooo much better than Starbucks coffee! 8/10 Desserts: Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake is not bad, but would prefer the cheesecake to be softer on the inside. Very pretty looking cake and not too sweet. 7/10 Service: Excellent! Staff is friendly, service is quick and the the staff bring out the food to you. They constantly ask if we're good with our food. My bf and I just took our laptop and the staff asked if we need the wifi password, unlike some other cafes they don't even bother to ask. 10/10 Parking: It's free at West Covina Mall. Park near Macy's and walk through to get into the mall. Once you get out of Macy's, Cafe Valer is located 1 minute away (on your left).

    This place reminds me of Urth cafe, without the bougie-hipster patrons, and better service. The reviews don't lie, people! this place really is a hidden gem inside the West Covina mall. I had the black bean, chicken, avocado (spinach) wrap with a small, hot, green tea latte. The green tea latte really blew my mind. It reminds me of the green tea kit kat bar from Japanese markets. It's milky, and creamy, and the matcha taste is just right. I loved that it wasn't too sweet, either. My wrap was good too, generous amount of ingredients, yet you don't feel disgusting after eating it. The servers here are SO wonderful. He noticed it was hot outside on the patio, and came out to give me some ice water without me having to even ask. I will definitely be a returning customer! UPDATE: Ordered a tray of 30 breakfast wraps , half veggie (spinach,bellpeppers,cheese, egg) and half bacon, egg, and cheese. I was surprise at how big they were! When you order a party tray, they come out to $2 each. I cut them all in half so our colleagues could have more options. They were delicious! Cory is one of the managers I believe, and he suggested I get mozzarella instead of american cheese if they weren't going to be eaten right away. That's great customer service right there! Shows they really value their customers. I honestly didn't expect much from the veggie wrap, but it actually was just as good ,if not better than dare I say, bacon! everyone loved them! I would much rather come here than eat the junk breakfast wraps from those fast food chains. Great value, great quality, and awesome customer service. What more could you ask for?!

    All the years passing by this place I never thought I'd find a hidden gem. Cafe Valer has amazing food and even better customer service. Whether you like a place to grab a quick panini or early Sunday morning breakfast spot you can relax and talk to loved ones; Cafe Valer is the place to be. The quality and quantity of their food has no match. Everything you see is made with love and a unique twist. Their cafe is die for whether you have their iced dulce de leche latte to their hot Mexican mocha, great coffee to start your morning. They do not make their desserts in house but they outsource to a local bakery that provides them with such items as: oreo and salted caramel cheesecake, red velvet cupcakes, carrot cake muffins, etc. Tucked away in the mall, you'd never thought of finding a culinary powerhouse such as Cafe Valer, don't make that mistake.     The mall has added a bunch of different places to eat outside of the food court over the past few years, but this little gem somewhat hidden at the corner of one of the exits is possibly the best of them all. The cafe is fairly small, they have a table inside the mall while inside they have four tables. The decor is similar to like Starbucks and Coffee Bean. For a cafe, I was surprised by their extensive menu. It took me a couple of minutes to decide what to get. I decided to get the Angus wrap while my friend decided to get the grilled chicken wrap. The wraps were fantastic. The meat was juicy, and the portion size was perfect. The sauce was good but it didn't overpower the other parts of the wrap. The service here is very good. They were very kind and respectful. They also brought the food to our table and picked up our plates after we finished. I did not expect this type of service from a cafe in the mall. It's definitely a place that I will try again when I go to the mall.

    Delicious! I ordered the vegetarian panini because I don't like to eat any other meat other than seafood so I added tuna to it. It was very good. Very fresh they make it when you order it. You can even create your own sandwich or panini. I also ordered the tiramisu cream latte which was amazing! Together it cost about $9. I only ordered half of a panini though so a full size would've been more but It's worth every penny! Mike, An older gentleman with glasses, took my order and he was so helpful and very patient considering I couldn't make up my mind on what I wanted. He knew his espressos very well. Unfortunately I live far from here or I would be a regular. Definitely recommend this cafe!

I met my sister for lunch here and we sat inside which is a small area of about 4 tables, there is patio seating as well. Their menu consists of light but filling sandwiches, paninis, and salads. They also have pastries and delicious coffee. I ordered the Spinach and Avocado vegetarian wrap, my sis got her absolute favorite - the Italian panini. They did not skimp on the veggies or dressing in my wrap, it was flavorful and fresh! I ate the entire thing and did not feel overly full but satisfied and happy :) We also got the Caramel Wake Me Up coffee and it was amazing! more full and rich than any chain coffee shop. I will be back to try their other vegetarian options and pastries!

    Came here during lunch hours and got the full chipotle avocado panini. It was delicious! It was made to perfection: chicken wasn't dry, the chipotle sauce made the sandwhich nice and moist, and who can go wrong with avocado?! Beats paneras chipotle panini by a landslide. I noticed they also had a vast amounts of desert choices. I was too full to give it a go, but the cheesecake variety looked delicious! Got a iced hazelnut coffee to satisfy my sweets craving. Place is a bit small, but definitely gives off the cafe ambiance. Workers are super friendly and service is great. Definitely will be coming here again and looking forward to trying their dessert!

Garlic Bacon Avocado (replaced with Chicken) 5/5: OMGG! I didn't except it to be that good, but wow I want another one just thinking about it. The flavor was just SOO yummy, garlicy, and mayoie, and full of excitement! GET IT! Lemon Drop Raspberry Cheesecake 5/5: I just LOVE the way this cheesecake looks!! SOOO cute and creamy with a hint of raspberry tart. Amazing! Creme Brulee Cheesecake 5/5: IM GOING TO DIE BECAUSE IT IS SO GOOD! Maybe im exaggerating but no joke...its fcking AMAZING! It's the wonderfulness of a cheesecake infused with this vanilla custard cream....I'm So in love. If I can marry this cheesecake I WOULD.

    Yelp 2015 Challenge #31 Well I'm currently sitting here waiting for Customer Service on my phone.... so might as well write a review, eh? Cafe Valer, what an excellent little hidden gem in the West Covina mall! It's off the side, near the Macy's and the Gatten sushi side. The first time my friend and I tried to find it, we couldn't! We were at the middle of the mall and still wondering where it was! But then back we went. It's a cute little place and it has a nice picture in the middle. They serve food and drink, so you can eat and drink here rather than go to the food court that may or may not exist. Service was great, as the servers took their time explaining what went on in each drink. I was choosing between the green tea latte and the toffee nut latte and she recommended TN. Toffee nut is the best, as they say, and so I got an iced TN. Sob. I could have gotten latte art in a Green tea latte but twas a hot day, and so... yep. The drink was actually high in caffeine which surprised me (my friend also got the same drink haha). Shorter review since it was only a drink, but if I do ever make my way back for their wonderful foods, I'll update this or make this longer :3 It's like a Starbucks but 10x better. Come visit! :)

    located in a corner of the mall next to gatten sushi! but i'd take this place over gatten anyday :) my friend and i split the chipotle chicken panini and it was HUGE they were kind enough to cut it in half for us. the panini was very flavorful-- the chipotle sauce came oozing out of the sides and they definitely didn't skimp out on the chicken :) i also ordered the matcha green tea latte which was perfect in terms of flavor and sweetness level. i'll definitely be back :) not to mention, they have amazing customer service and the prices are very reasonable!

    It's times like this when I'm so thankful for Yelp for introducing this place to me because I'm actually not someone who craves for sandwiches very often so I would not have voluntarily stepped into this place on my own. Fortunately, I was swayed into this place and I'm already craving to come back to Cafe Valer even as I type this review out. The menu has a variety of items you can choose from! I decided to go with the Spicy Italian Trio because the pictures on Yelp made it look really delicious and turns out it was better than I thought despite having high expectations! Extremely flavorful and they don't put too much or too little of any of the ingredients so it really tastes like symmetrical perfection. I also tried the oreo cupcake! It was very sweet and yummy. I just wish the frosting was fluffier and softer but it all still tasted really good. So this place would be a good place to go to for people with a sweet tooth. So in the end, I am so happy I came to try this place out. Delicious food, friendly service, and puts all sandwich restaurants to shame. Can't wait to come back!

    Was here with a friend I catch up on old times, about life, you know...stuff! Well, we ordered iced drinks-frappes and such and was here literally for almost four hours talking. I know, guy or girl, when you are with me-we can chat for hours and that's if we just met! Not really, it's only if we have that "click" or how you say "a connection". The drinks are okay, nothing too fancy. I got the white chocolate mocha - blended with ice aka frappe. I didn't get to try the food, but gonna get me some when I'm on a free shopping day. Their seating is simple and pretty cute. On the inside, there are small tackles for 2-4 at max. However, if you sit on the outside, you can seat more. But I wanted to sit inside because I didn't want the wind blowing at me on a chilly day. Let me leave you with something witty. Ummmm.... People say you can't live without love, but I think oxygen is more important. KAHPOW! I leave now!

    I'm giving it three stars because it seemed better than two, but I really was feeling "meh, I've had better". I went with a friend for a girls lunch. This place had so many great reviews, I was genuinely surprised that it was "meh". The ambiance was a lovely cafe experience. Very posh looking with full displays of drinks and pastry. The iced tea was fantastic. They brew it fresh from a tea bag that you choose. It was so good. Definitely worth the dry panini. I had the Chicken Avocado Panini & 1/2 caesar salad. I didn't finish the panini. The bread was very dry. The chicken was fine, but the sandwich didn't have a lot of flavor. Combined with the dry bread, I didn't really like it. The salad was swimming in dressing. Next time I'll know to get the dressing on the side. For a caesar, the dressing was very 'mustardy' tasting. It wasn't to my taste. The ambiance & iced tea were 5 stars, but the panini & salad brought it down to a 3 star overall.

    Cafe Valer is located at the West Covina Plaza so it's a nice place to stop for a lunch/coffee break while shopping. I've tried their chicken panini and the Greek chicken salad. Their paninis are nice and crispy with a good amount of melty cheese so you can't really go wrong. The Greek salad was just ok and a little pricey for what was on the plate. They have good lattes and their creme brûlée cheesecake is melt in your mouth delicious! There's limited seating inside the shop, but I saw more seats right outside the doors.

    5 stars for Customer Service although when my boyfriend and I are still deciding up in the front of the cashier , he was just standing there. Thought that was pretty weird lol. No big deal tho. We ordered 2 different Panini (: Chipotle Chicken Avocado - Average avocado and I guess the sandwich just looks pretty typical to me. Chipotle BBQ Chicken - It's a bit spicy so I like that. Two of the Panini are comparable tho. Except one is spicy and one isn't. Again, it looks typical. For something that's about $8.00 I kind of expect something more :) Sorry!? Again, the bf was telling me how great their customer service is because when he go up to the girl to get the water refill, she was asking how's the food, if we like it and if there's anything else we need. Make sure to let her know. She's pretty on top of everything. So good for you whoever that was working that day ! (:

    So packed today, thought for sure the food would take longer than usual, but arrived quicker than normal and just as I recall it. I ordered the chicken chipotle panini and the chicken chipotle burrito. The burrito was a special item not in the menu and they made it anyway no questions asked.

    The sandwiches here are fantastic. Not much places serve you with fresh ingredients and flavorful components in each bite. The manager/boss are very kind. The second time I went they seem to have a lot of staff, more than before. The cafe is around the shopping center, located right next to a sushi restaurant. The two times I've been here, I usually order a combo; half sandwich and half salad + fountain drink (but i always get a coffee of some sort and they will -$1.00 off the orginal price with the combo deal and I pay the the remaining price). The desserts are pretty delicious as well, very rich. Seating is very limited inside, but there are a few tables and chairs outside for you to dine. Anyways, love this place, and I'd love to go have brunch here again very soon.

    Came across this this a few times on YELP and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered half salad and sandwich combo with Garlic Chicken Pesto/Chicken House Salad and Original Breakfast Panini for the hubby. Garlic Chicken Pesto was good, like gourmet version of corner bakery's Pesto Chicken Sandwich (which kinda sucks now to me). The Salad was good, a bit too much cheese for me but all good. The Breakfast Panini was very good but too heavy for me, my hubby loved it! He's like this is our go to place form now on. OK! The portions are very generous and full of ingredients and flavor. I wanted to buy every single dessert on display to try. Luckily, we were going to have a get together later at night so I got to! Well, not everything, but close enough. They had a row of mousse in nice glass jars that was new. two rows of cheesecakes, and a row of bars and cupcakes. This is what I picked up (based on memory I lost the pic): Pistachio Raspberry Mousse - It was good but I'm more of a chocolate fan. Hubby liked this. Hazelnut Crunch Mousse - OMG! Ferrero Rocher in mousse form! My fave and go to from now on. It is a bit rich, took me a day or two to finish. The mousse comes in this heavy duty glass container, it's good to keep and you can use it for something else later. Strawberry Cheesecake - Very rich and flavorful. Hubby liked this one. Boston Cream Pie - This was good but I prefer more pudding, cake was a bit dry. Salted Caramel Cheesecake - Very rich. Not as strong of a caramel flavor as I expected. Not as salty as I expected. Caramel Macchiato Cupcake - The cake was moist and good, not a fan of the frosting, tasted like butter with caramel drizzle. I loved the the cake on it's own. I also bought these but didn't get to try and will be on my list for next time: Lemonade Raspberry Cheesecake Creme Brulee Cheesecake Manhattan Cheesecake Overall, everything was good. Parking was easy, it was on the less busy side of the mall between JC Penney and Macy's across Gatten Sushi. Service was excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. Not a lot of places have great service anymore. Oh, I got a free cookie. I remember the guy saying it was Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut. YUM! Until I think I taste coconut shavings, not a fan. Other than that, it was good. I will be back!

    Today was one of those days I had to go to the mall but I was looking for something a little healthier than what's at the food court. Read some amazing reviews about this place and had to check it out. Cafe Valer is a small little eatery close to Macy's and Gatten Sushi. They have wraps, salads, paninis, sandwiches. It took me a while to decide what to order since it all sounded so good. I ended up getting the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich on Sourdough Bread. The owner seems really nice offering me a full regular cup of water with my order without me even having to ask. I can be a little indecisive asking for things and by the time I decide, my chance is gone. The owner made that decision for me. I couldn't find many seats inside so I sat outside. My half sandwich came personally to me by the owner 8-10 minutes after I ordered it. It tasted pretty damn good. Bread was toasty (wish I had it crispier). Turkey was delicious and everything just came together perfectly. I definitely enjoyed my experience at this gem in the mall and expect to see me there more often.

Toni is the best, she has unbelievable customer service (&& I might add her style is on point ) the panini's are my favorite thing too eat. Breakfast from here is a must! && I'm so glad they brought back my peach ginger tea ! My only complaint is the line is so long during lunch hour, but you'll see why once u go!

    If I begin to explain how much I love this place then this review would probably turn into a novel. So I will TRY to be brief. The food, the staff, and the drinks are AMAZING. I order a green tea latte (iced or hot) every time I come here. I'm a huge fan of their panini's, wraps, and the tiramisu. Sometimes it takes a while to place your order and actually receive your order, but that is because this place is really busy!! And in the end, the staffs friendliness and the product of their food really makes it worth waiting.

    It's a small cute cafe inside a big mall, competing with the food court filled with fast food... It is very clean unlike the food court and it's quiet which I enjoyed (since the mall is usually really loud). I'm not entirely sure how busy it usually is, but I went with a friend on an early afternoon of a weekday. There were like two people working. The cashier was really nice. There were so many options so it took me a while. He helped ease the overwhelming process by vividly describing certain items I asked about. In the end, I ordered a panini (I think it was the chicken spinach one). My friend ordered coffee. The wait for the food wasn't long. The food came out hot and fresh. It wasn't really greasy and it was seasoned well. You also get fancy utensils to eat with. I actually don't remember if I put the plates away myself or I left it on the table, but I think it was the latter. Overall the food was very good and the price was very reasonable!

    Hidden little gem inside the mall. Just because this is a little place inside a mall, don't let that deter you! Inside only has about 3 or 4 small tables and outside there's a little patio with more seating. Service was excellent! The workers were so friendly and helpful. He brought us an extra plate and napkins when we didn't even ask. They have paninis, wraps, salads and soups, desserts and coffee drinks! I had a chipotle chicken panini and boy was it good. I will definitely be back!

    This little gem is one of my boyfriend's & my favorite places to eat in West Covina. We always come here when we want something on the healthy side with great service. There's so many things on the menu, over the past year I've tried about a handful of items. I can not wait til my next visit to try something new!     Hidden treasure in the West Covina mall. Always saw it, but never tried it. Bummed that I barely went in out of all the years. All their food is fresh, beautiful prepared and the service is the best part. They are friendly and pay extreme attention to detail.     Excellent little Cafe next to the Gatten Sushi at the West Covina mall. Friendly staff. Great coffee, smoothies, tea and desserts. Food is fantastic too.     Came here about a month ago while I was walking through the mall. I didn't even know this place was here because its in a corner next to a side entrance. Anyways, glad I discovered this place! I ordered the wake me up caramel (yes, it was one of those days) and it was really good! The girl taling orders was really nice and helpful too when I was deciding on my drink order. The man who made the drinks was also super friendly. While I waited I looked at the menu and the fun options sounded yummy as well. I would def come back next time I am in the mall.

I didn't expected to be asked "How's everything" at the cafe, While we were sitting outside waiting for our food, the owner came out saying he could grab more chair if we want to sit inside. Then he came out few more time to give us water and napkins. When we were enjoying our food, he came out again asking how was everything. I mean you don't expect baristas at starbucks or urth cafe come out asking you how is the sandwich . Usually they just deliver the order and go back to do their daily tasks. i thought it was kinda nice that he came outside to ask our feedback, just like waiters do at other restaurants.

    My first visit at this location was awesome! Cafe Valer is located at the mall, next to a sushi place. The location is small, but the atmosphere is pleasant. The young man who helped my husband and I gave us great customer service. Polite, understanding, and sweet. The food was excellent. He messed up my husband's order and gave him a salad on the side for free, what a great gesture. It was not necessary but greatly appreciated. The lattes are awesomely delicious :-). Before we left, we purchased some pastries to go which looked delicious. I definitely recommend for people to stop by and try Cafe Valer. I will surely come to visit again.

    I highly recommend this place. Mall food can't get any better than this! First time I came here, I had the California Chicken Panini and it was simply the best panini sandwich I've ever had! I love the sun-dried tomato pesto aioli in the sandwich! The thick creaminess of the sauce keeps it from completely soaking the bread like I've seen too many times before with other sandwiches. For an additional $2.00, you can get a side and a drink. I was so amazed at how delicious the sandwich was that I didn't even realize I never got my side salad. It didn't keep me from coming back a second time. I came back a second time and ordered the Chipotle Chicken Panini. I didn't realize it included black beans, which I normally don't like in any of my food. This sandwich wasn't as flavorful as the California Chicken but I like how the chipotle sauce wasn't as spicy as some of the chipotle sauces out there. I know some yelpers mention how the sauce isn't spicy but I think it had a nice pinch of spice (my spice tolerance is very low). They didn't forget my side salad this time.

    Fantastic service! I used a yelp coupon for 10% off and wasn't even aware that I didn't get my discount. When the cashier discovered it, they not only returned the amount but even included a free dessert as an apology. With integritous management like that, you can be sure they don't skim on the details. The sandwich was FULLY loaded with avocados (a rare sight these days) and even though this is a casual dining place, the waitstaff and management's level of service exceeded that of many fine Bistros' If you're in the mall and are looking for a great casual dining place, I highly recommend!

    This place is located by Macy's and across from Gatten Sushi in the West Covina mall on the first floor. My friend and I recently came here for an early lunch in between classes and found that they offered sandwiches and pastries. We ended up getting panini sandwich combos that came with either a spring/Caesar salad or a bag of chips plus a drink. I think the it was the owner who helped us and he was really nice and offered suggestions as to what to order. The place itself had a few small tables along with a patio outside. We found a seat and not for long, we got our drinks and food. My Oreo and mocha frappe was so good. The jalapeño pepper chicken panini was also good and not bland. We also got a sample of a chocolate chip croissant along with some other ingredient in it and that was amazing! All pastries are baked fresh daily and they offer wraps, pizza and salads; even breakfast is served all day. This is making me want to drive out to West Covina today and have lunch again. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here!

    Love love love! ! I love cafe styled places because the portions are ideal and the ambience is chill. This place has many options whether you are In the mood for a panini salad, dessert, lattes, pizza. The list goes on! Customer service: I came in a Friday around 8 pm, looking for my dinner and to unwind. I was greeted and assisted with the menu. The cashier was uber helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. He was also patient and gave us free dessert after our meal (talk about generous!) Location: it is located adjacent to the revolving sushi inside the mall. Price: not too shabby, the jalapeño panini full size was about 8 dollars and chai latte 3. Come and eat, chat, unwind from work! cheers!

    Came here with my housemate and we both ordered a panini, half size. We sat down near the door to their outside seating area. A guy went out there to smoke and the smell of it started to bother us so we moved to another table. Another guy eating inside the cafe (turns out to be a waiter there) came and asked us if it's bothering us, he can close the door. That was considerate of him. Of course we just told him it's fine, he didn't need to do that and thank you. Our food and drinks came pretty fast since we were the only customers there at that time. As we were getting up to leave, that same waiter told us he wanted to give us a complimentary slice of mango mousse. We sat back down to eat it and IT WAS DELISH!~ My housemate is not a fan of mangoes and she said that mango mousse tasted good. They have a few vegetarian choices on the menu, would definitely come back!

    Service was exceptional. The workers were hardworking and took the time to check up on us. Very friendly people. The food here is incredible. The best in the entire mall. I recently had the full roast beef sandwich on a croissant, and it was delicious. The portion was generous and had a decent amount of meat. Includes a deli pickle. My girlfriend ordered a half garlic pesto chicken panini and really enjoyed it. She said it was creamy and the bread was grilled perfectly. Light crisp to it. I recommend ordering the house coffee (with french vanilla sweetener and cream) with your meal because it compliments the sandwich and was only $2 for a large. Overall, I was highly satisfied with everything about Cafe Valer.

    A++++++ ( or in Yelpish, 5 stars)!!! My friend told me about this place and I thought to myself, " a café in the mall? Eh." But I was completely blind sided by this place. The guy behind the counter was incredibly nice and offered a menu so we could get a better inside on the food there. I ended up ordering the full chicken, spinach, and feta panini along with a caramel latte. I am a sucker for latte art and this place did a good job with the basic flower design. The latte was surprisingly good! The foam wasn't too thick and the coffee wasn't overly sweet, just right. The panini waa very delicious. It had a buttery crust on the outside with a flavorful pesto aioli inside. They didn't skimp on the spinach either which other places do. The guy working there kept coming back to check up on me and my friend. I swear, it was like he could read my mind. He asked if I wanted a cup of water before I could even ask him and also for a togo box. Definitely will come here more often!

    One happy tummy!! Actually two happy tummys. Why? Because we were able to try the chicken chipotle and turkey avocado sandwich. Bread delish! Chicken chipotle had a power punch taste in every single bite. I wanted to take a picture of the plate, but I was so hungry and it was sooo ohhh good that I couldn't stop to take a pix. (sorry yelpers). After eating the chipotle, the turkey was not as exciting, but don't get me wrong, it was still good. And the owner was telling us about his mornings Monday thru Friday special coffee/espressos are 50%! Awesomeness! So we ordered a vanilla latte and man I'm in heaven. Every sip was just right. I will come back asap! Come here instead of Panera and help a local business. :-)

    I come to this mall all the time and I've never really noticed the quaint little cafe off to the side. I'm so glad I stopped by, the gentleman that helped us was really nice. He was cashier, chef and barista and excelled in all three things! I came here with my brother and we split the chipotle chicken panini, splitting a whole sandwich was definitely enough for us. It was so good and had the right amount of spicy flavor and not the spot! We loved the food here so much we ordered more to go. I definitely recommend this place for a nice lunch.

    Ordered a java chip mocha for myself and an orange sunrise smoothie for my sister. There were three other people behind us at the time and we ordered at 4:18PM. The three behind us got their coffee orders before we did. It wasn't until I asked at 4:38PM about our drinks that they started on our drinks. But the manager came by afterwards and offered a free panini next time card and offered his apologies for the service. That made up for the service issue IMO. However that doesn't make up for the drinks themselves: Both the drinks were rather plain and had virtually no flavor. When I can get a similar named drink at Starbucks that has better flavor, you know something is wrong here. I probably won't be coming back here even to redeem that panini card. I'd stick with Starbucks.

    Boyfriend ordered the toffee nut latte and the avocado turkey bagel. I ordered the Mexican mocha and the California chicken panini. I definitely won. I'd highlight it and draw stars and hearts all over my order if I could. The panini was so delicious and surprisingly easy to maintain. The bread wasn't too hard from being overly toasted, the chicken was just right. The awesome pesto/avocado spread gets get super concentrated when you near the end the sandwich. And when you happen to bite into the tomato slice, that burst of cool sweet tomato juice in the middle of all that savory delight... UGH* (YUM). When debating about half or full panini, you will definitely want the other half of that panini after all that melting-you yumminess. I loved the blend of cinnamon, chocolate, coffee of the Mexican mocha. Plus side was that it wasn't so sweet that my tongue was sending WARNING signals to my brain on my sugar intake. The toffee nut is sweeter; I half expected to get candy chunks to crunch on. The bagel wasn't such a flavor explosion, but still delicious in a light way that is good for breakfast. Best part was that our experience at this cafe was amazing. It's a very relaxed environment, doubly reinforced but how absolutely considerate our cashier/server was. His demeanor was all "no rush" - not in the way some waiters/waitresses blurt that out like they're trained to say automatically. Even when we got our food or got asked how it was, it wasn't like "hey stop talking, I'm here" but all very natural and smooth. You might think I'm exaggerating or a happy coincidence or the stars were aligned just right, but it's still no lie that been a while since we left a restaurant so completely happy. We're now totally fans. *I'm not sure if UGH means the same on Yelp as it does on Tumblr. =X

    this place really impressed me!! I was searching for a yummy sandwich place and came across this cafe on yelp. the good reviews are what got in this cafe, and now I see why poeple love them. Me and my bf ordered the chicken ranch pizza and the California club panini both were so yummy! we also ordered two drinks one iced white caramel frap and a pineapple mango smoothie both were so delicious!! definite must try! the service was EXCELLENT, the gentlemen that served us was so kind and attentive I'm impressed with his customer service, he even gave a complimentary desert. you can tell they really care about their costumers new & old. that alone deserves 5 stars!!! we also got a slice of the mango mouse cake also a MUST TRY! & the prices are very reasonable. definitely coming back =)

    I love love love this place. After months of coming here for lunch, I am delighted to say that they make the best paninis I have ever eaten! They normally have specials that include a sandwich/salad/rice plate with a drink at a very reasonable price. They have a good selection of paninis and salads, most of which I have tried. Their food is filled with color and flavor. The paninis are packed with filling - not stingy at all. Most of the time, I am hesitant to try different items on the menu, but not for Cafe Valer. I am always excited to try something new because frankly, they have not ceased to please my taste buds! As for the setting, there are only a few tables and the place is quite small inside, but they do have patio seating. The people who work here are very friendly and they would gladly assist you if you have any requests on your food. They are very amiable and try to serve you as fast as they can. I hope they keep up with the high quality food and excellent service!

    This cafe is delicious and is truly a hidden little gem in the Westfield Covina Mall. One of my girlfriends ordered the omelette and I had the Chipotle Chicken Panini, both were winners! The regular coffee is on the watery side, but it's not terrible. Otherwise this is great spot for a shopping break or brunch!

    OH EM GEE! This is definitely the most delicious cafe in the area. Great service Corey and Mike always make you feel welcomed. Not only is the service amazing the food is great! I recommend the chicken ceaser salad you wont be disappointed :) All their food and drinks are great.

    This place is pretty good with fresh ingredients. I like to order the buffalo chicken wrap and the lemon chicken wrap with extra cream cheese. They have a side salad that is decent with the meals and a pickle. It's hard to find places like this around this neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place, but not the cupcakes.

    Great food great people and great atmosphere. I've loved everything. The Italian chicken mini wraps are my go to lunch. I especially enjoy the chocolate chip cookies. On Monday's and Wednesday's they have a buy one get one free smoothies or iced coffee. Such a great deal! I usually get me and my friend one for when we need a pick me up at work. You should def try.

    This is my absolute favorite place to eat lunch on a workday. I try to space out my visits because it can get a bit taxing on the ol' pocketbook, but you really do get what you pay for here. The cute bald guy that is almost always behind the counter is awesome-and I think he told me he created the menu. He's got talent, and provides excellent service on top of that. Since I come in fairly often, he remembers me and is always giving helpful suggestions. There are tons of options, from simple grilled cheese or turkey sandwiches to creatively put together wraps, salads and breakfast foods. I have tried a bevy of items here, many times on the recommendation of aforementioned cute guy. My favorites (so far!) are: *Parisian Salad-it has chicken, yummy veggies, cheese, and cranberries, and is just delicious. *Mediterranean Baguette-my friend C got this one day and it was oh so good. The filling was perfect and the baguette was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was very filling. *All veggie wraps-I could scarcely pick a favorite of these. The artichoke one is great, as is the garden veggie, and I don't remember exactly which ones have the hummus/cream cheese combination, but oh lordy they are so good. *Tomato soup-probably the best I've had at any casual dining establishment. Not too creamy but not too brothy either. I pretty much slurped it. All of the sandwiches come with a juicy pickle, impeccable presentation and friendly service. You really cannot go wrong here. My one caveat-don't come here if you are in a rush, unless you just want to grab one of the pre-made options. Those are fine, but you'll be missing out on the deliciousness of a freshly made meal. Cute guy takes his time crafting your food, which is no problem for me on my hour lunch break. If you are unfortunate enough to come when he isn't manning the counter, you'll be still be getting a good meal made by one of the other workers-perhaps just not AS good.

    I'm a mall employee and I just recently discovered cafe valer. I absolutely love the place. The food is cheap and without compromising the quality! They also offer healthy alternatives for those who are watching what they consume. The workers are extremely nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

    A little cafe hidden behind a chocolate store. It's a nice place to eat lunch. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. They have coffee, tea, sandwiches, salads, and pastries. My favorites so far are the Mediterranean chicken wrap, turkey guacamole BLT on a croissant, and green chicken salad. I have tried quite a few things and have yet to have anything I didn't like from here. However, their coffees aren't the best. They're just okay if you need a quick coffee fix. Be warned though, they can be on the sweeter side. I told the guy that I don't like super sweet drinks and he made it to my liking, so that's a plus. The only real downside seems to be their green tea lemonade. A co-worker ordered it one time and it did not look or taste that good. It was creamy looking.... I don't think green tea lemonade is supposed to have milk in it. A few of the workers aren't all that nice, but other than that, I really like this place!

    It was a hot weekend and my favorite guy and I was looking for something refreshing to drink. Wasn't feeling Starbucks across the intersection nor wanted something too expensive. We were about to step into the West Covina mall and noticed this place right off the bat. Ahh...what a cool find it was. There was a sign that said "Buy 1 frappacino, get 1 free". We were excited and went in and ordered two Mocha Fraps. All for under $5.00! Very smooth and enough whip to make it a summer treat. 'Cafe Valer' also has a selection of sandwiches, baked goods and drinks. Looks like a deal. I would definitely stop by here again.

    Well I Stopped by today and tried this place out i have to say it was really amazing good customer service very clean place. I tried the bbq Buffalo chicken wrap and a pazooki for dessert it looked a so good that 3 people waiting in line had to ask what it was lol =D not only did it look good it tasted great. Overall great experience would recommend it to others

    Great place! There's not one thing I can say about this place that is bad. Great location, convenient outside and inside seating. Prices are good. Drinks are amazing! Recommend it over Starbucks BIG TIME! Service is friendly and fast. The food is just incredible! I'd recommend the bagel burgers or the paninis. Such a great place! Will definitely be coming more often!

    I love this place's sandwiches. I always try something different, and they're always pretty good. So far, the Lemon Pepper Turkey is my favorite. The guys who work here are so nice and friendly compared to the girls who work at their other location in Puente Hills (well, except for the girl with tattoos. She is pretty cool and friendly). I also love the fact that they have sooo many different coffee flavors. It's almost overwhelming, but that's a good thing for me who doesn't like having the same thing twice! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I sometimes wonder if their prices may be a bit high? My budget will definitely not allow me to go there more often.

    Such a big fan of this place. I got hooked about 3 months ago. My sister in law brought home a sandwich for me one day and since then I have been coming back abt once a week or so. I usually get the chicken spinach feta with the salad. So yummy. The salads are always fresh. I believe they have a girl that bakes her own cakes and treats and brings them by each morning. Her oreo cupcakes are really good... but my aunts and cousin vivians are still better. ;) The breakfast burritos are really good too. Haven't had a bad experience yet.

    Could have made that sandwich myself at home, but 1000x better. Went on a weekend. They ran out of peaches for one of their drinks, and the tuna was bland. Tuna's an extra dollar, too, so I thought it was going to be pretty good, especially after reading all the great Yelp reviews. Maybe you have to go on a weekday for lunch. Definitely skip this place during the weekend.

    Cafe Valer is amazing! They are always friendly and the food and drinks are great too! So if you want your food or drink made a special way, they will do it with no problem. It is a very warm & welcoming environment and the staff makes everyone feel at home! I love their tortilla soup and their Jalepeno Chicken Panini. All of my co-workers and friends go there! I would rather go there than go to Starbucks...and I used to work for Starbucks too!

    I never thought a place like this would exist. Prices down right reasonable, portions simply satisfying. I've had only 2 dishes so far and would highly recommend it. That would be the Buffalo Chicken Caesar wrap and the Mushroom and Ranch chicken salad. What I pretty much love the most about in there dishes is they grill the chicken and it stays moist and very flavorful. Definitely would come back.
